2024 Scholarship Recipients

Gracie Koch

Gracie Koch was awarded a $3,500 scholarship through the Austin Smith Foundation.

Gracie grew up in St. Paul, Oregon as the daughter of a third generation hop farmer. She attended St. Paul High School and had been active in her school and the St. Paul community through various extracurriculars and volunteer efforts.

She was a four-year student-athlete in volleyball, basketball, softball, and track & field. She participated in FFA, FCA, St. Paul Business Leaders, and Key Club and held offices in FFA, Associated Student Body, and FCA. Gracie volunteers at the St. Paul Rodeo, St. Paul Youth Sports Organization and various community events.

Gracie will be attending Blue Mountain Community College in Pendleton, Oregon and will be pursuing her associate degree. Once complete, she plans to attend Eastern Oregon University in La Grande, Oregon. Gracie will be pursuing a degree in nursing and would like to work in labor and delivery.

Gracie had been described as an outstanding individual who is kind, caring and an extremely driven student. Gracie pursuing nursing shows her desire to help others and be a part of something bigger than herself.

The Austin Smith Foundation is honored to present Gracie with this scholarship to further her pursuit of higher education and give back to her community.

 

Kenley Doubrava

Kenley Doubrava was awarded a $3,500 scholarship through the Austin Smith Foundation.

Kenley grew up in Aurora, Oregon and attended North Marion High School. Kenley has been active in her school and her community. Kenley is a four-year student-athlete, competing in cross country and track & field. She has held positions in her high School as Associated Student Body President, Vice President, Key Club Media Editor, and Cross Country and Track & Field Team Captain.

Kenley has a huge heart that is demonstrated through the volunteer work she has done with the elderly in her community. Kenley is a volunteer for Meals on Wheels Canby and she delivers meals to the elderly in her community, forming small connections with the people she met. This led to her being a server at Springridge Retirement Home and eventually a Home Healthcare Aide where she has assisted in the day-to-day care of the elderly.

Kenley will be attending the University of Portland and has been admitted in the School of Nursing and Health Innovations. Kenley will be pursuing a degree in Nursing.

Kenley has been described by others as driven, having an incredible work ethic and compassion for others.

The Austin Smith Foundation is honored to present Kenley with this scholarship to further her pursuit of higher education and give back to her community.

 

Addison Arnzen

Addison Arnzen was awarded a $2,500 scholarship through the Austin Smith Foundation.

Addison has attended St. Paul High School and has been active member in the St. Paul community and school. Addison has been involved in the Oregon High School Rodeo, NWYRA Youth Rodeo and FFA. She has been described as a leader among her peers and a role model for younger kids.

Addison participated as a student-athlete in basketball, softball, volleyball and cross country. She is involved in St. Paul Business Leaders, Key Club, Fellowship of Christian Athletes and International Club.

Addison will be attending Walla Walla Community College to pursue a career in the medical field. Addison's desire to pursue a career in the medical field was influenced by her personal experiences with medical personnel and the positive impact they have on patients. Addison also has multiple members of her family serving as first responders for their local Fire Departments. This has also led her to desire to be a part of a similar career field.

Addison is hard worker with a willingness to strive for improvement. She has a great attitude and a drive to succeed. She is a great teammate and peer who always puts others first.

The Austin Smith Foundation is honored to present Addison with this scholarship to further her pursuit of higher education and continue to give back to her community.
