Heroism comes from the calling to help somebody, not the need to be somebody.

Austin Smith of the Saint Paul Fire Department and Logan Taylor of Sasquatch Reforestation were honored at Oregon’s 2023 Fallen Firefighter Memorial Ceremony on June 15, 2023. The ceremony took place in Salem on the campus of the Department of Public Safety Standards and Training.

Austin Smith and Logan Taylor's names were both added to the Memorial Wall. This memorial holds 176 sacred names of fallen firefighters who have died in the line of duty.

This ceremony was a beautiful tribute to Austin and Logan and their selflessness. Friends and family of both Austin and Logan gathered to honor and pay their respects.
